Celebrate Texas

Its spring time and I cant wait to see the Texas Blue Bonnets start blooming. These pictures are from April 2014 but just getting them scrapbooked now. These flowers line alot of our roadways here and seeing a large area of them is just so pretty! I used the stamp from the March Celebrate, Take 10 Kit from The Studio 29 Designs and the rest of the stamps and dies are from Technique Tuesday.

Week 9 - Life Documented

This week, the journaling is mainly about the weather as we see very little snow here in the Dallas Metroplex and this particular week we got ice several days and my City got 3" of snow. I am using the stamp from the Celebate Glam Bag from The Studio 29 Designs on the right hand side page. I just love the banner on this stamp! I used Crackle Glossy Accents on the snowflake wood veneer that I got my friend and teammate Nicole Kerr.
For the page on the left I used the So Emotional add on stamp by The Studio 29 Designs  to show my "mood" for each day. Both the numbers and week stamp are from Creative Retreat.

Using planner stamps

Hey there, today I am excited to show you how I used the awesome new Party Planner stamp from The Studio 29 Designs in my Planner. First, I am using the Franklin Planner Caroline binder in the compact size. My inserts are also from Franklin Planner and they are the Blooms in compact size which is 4.25"x6.75" and a day on two pages.

For this first page I used the 2 people cheering to note my Grandsons first Baseball tournament on Saturday and then I used the dress to note that's it time to do some shopping for some new spring clothes after the games. The page on the right I use to journal what happens throughout the day along with my thoughts and feelings, and then I use the information on these pages for the journaling on my Project Life pages. I like to stamp an image on this side and lightly color it in with colored pencils. For this page I used the Emoji stamp that was released this month. Love, love this stamp!
Maybe your wondering why I would take the time to do all this stamping versus just writing the information in. Well for me, I use this as a functional planner and I actually have a lot more information on my pages each day then what you see here. While my pages come "lightly" decorated, I like to use the stamps and colored pencils to make them more interesting and fun to look at. A planner is mostly "to do" items, and for me, to have the color and fun images to look at each day just make it more enjoyable as I have my planner open on my desk at all times.

Next up are my monthly pages and I recorded my Children's birthdays and my anniversary. My Daughter prefers cupcakes and my Son prefers cake so this stamp was perfect, and I used the wine bottle and glasses for the anniversary. I use Versamagic chalk ink and Memento ink as I don't get any bleed thru on my pages with these.
Even though I record these events on the monthly pages, I need a reminder to purchase the gift and card and get them mailed out. I note these a week before the event. I used the gift bag and the envelope for this and I used the ring to note that I have to get my wedding ring in for a cleaning and inspection. The weather balloon on the right hand page is the "Always Look Up" stamp from The Studio 29 Designs.

Dinner time

For Steve and I to create a menu plan, we just thought up a couple of meals for the week and left it at that. Super simple. But, he was diagnosed as a diabetic a few weeks back and needs to change his eating habits. I am joining in on the better eating and hoping it will pay off with a little weight loss.
Meal planning was getting tougher and the meals just were not very satisfying, so we decided to sit down and make a menu plan that included all 3 meals for the day and even what meals would be just left overs. This was TOUGH to do! We went thru the freezer and pantry during this process and I am embarrassed to say we had a lot of expired food in the pantry that we had to throw away. But, we got the meal plan done and then we created a grocery list. It took awhile but at the end of the week we both said that it made the week so much easier with having this list to refer to.
The idea to create a page about this came from Mandys #hashtagthisweek prompt. She has a new prompt each Sunday and they are great ideas to get more journaling on your pages! The pocket cards were a freebie that was offered with the prompt and were created by Digital Design Essentials. The majority of the stamped images are from Ali Edwards "Get Real" story stamp from October!

Hiking Journey at Fontenelle Forest part 2

More pages for my Grandsons book from our hike at the Fontenelle Forest in Nebraska. This adventure is from July 2013 and today in 2015, creating the layout makes me so happy that I journal on a daily basis. If  I didnt, I would have never remembered the information that I used in the Facts card in the top left pocket.I used the stamps from the February kits by The Studio 29 Designs and stamped them onto white canvas stars using black StazOn ink.
Keeping my page simple as Scott will be most interested in the pictures.
The first place we stopped along the trail and spent a good amount of time at was Acorn Acres!
In the top picture I used the February Glam Bag kit stamps and stamped them onto white card stock and then punched them out with at 1/2" punch. Then I punched out half circles from my picture using a 3/4" punch for the stamped images to sit into. The sun rays above my journaling are a stamp image that I stamped on my page and then stitched over the top of it.
Again, keeping my page simple as the pictures will be what is of interest for Scott.

The stamps in both kits this month are awesome. My favorite is the GeoTag stamp and it will be a well used stamp in my stash. It works great even without the GeoTag and the images are small enough that I will be able to use them in my planner.

Why I started Journaling

A page on why I started journaling. Currently I am using a Compact size Franklin Planner with the Blooms inserts and they are a day on two pages. I use one of the pages just for journaling each day. Even if I don't get all the pages scrapbooked that I would like, I am extremely happy that I will have my daily journaling to pass on to future generations.
The products I used are the January kit from Creative Retreat and the January "Gatherings" Story Stamp kit by Ali Edwards.
My page design is based off of this sketch by Creative Retreat.

Hiking Journey at Fontenelle Forest

My layouts today are using the stamps from the February kits by Studio 29 Designs and the addon stamps by Technique Tuesday. The theme this month is Journey and was perfect for me to use on these layouts. This is my youngest Grandson Scott and he lives 700 miles away so I always scrapbook the times that we get to spend with him and then send him the pages for his book. Both layouts are 8.5x11 and are from We R Memory Keepers.
Grampy carved Scott an Angry Birds hiking stick and made him a bracelet with a compass on it so we planned a hiking trip at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue Ne. Of course we had to get him an Angry Birds t-shirt to wear!
I used images from all of these stamps.
