Hiking Journey at Fontenelle Forest part 2

More pages for my Grandsons book from our hike at the Fontenelle Forest in Nebraska. This adventure is from July 2013 and today in 2015, creating the layout makes me so happy that I journal on a daily basis. If  I didnt, I would have never remembered the information that I used in the Facts card in the top left pocket.I used the stamps from the February kits by The Studio 29 Designs and stamped them onto white canvas stars using black StazOn ink.
Keeping my page simple as Scott will be most interested in the pictures.
The first place we stopped along the trail and spent a good amount of time at was Acorn Acres!
In the top picture I used the February Glam Bag kit stamps and stamped them onto white card stock and then punched them out with at 1/2" punch. Then I punched out half circles from my picture using a 3/4" punch for the stamped images to sit into. The sun rays above my journaling are a stamp image that I stamped on my page and then stitched over the top of it.
Again, keeping my page simple as the pictures will be what is of interest for Scott.

The stamps in both kits this month are awesome. My favorite is the GeoTag stamp and it will be a well used stamp in my stash. It works great even without the GeoTag and the images are small enough that I will be able to use them in my planner.

Why I started Journaling

A page on why I started journaling. Currently I am using a Compact size Franklin Planner with the Blooms inserts and they are a day on two pages. I use one of the pages just for journaling each day. Even if I don't get all the pages scrapbooked that I would like, I am extremely happy that I will have my daily journaling to pass on to future generations.
The products I used are the January kit from Creative Retreat and the January "Gatherings" Story Stamp kit by Ali Edwards.
My page design is based off of this sketch by Creative Retreat.

Hiking Journey at Fontenelle Forest

My layouts today are using the stamps from the February kits by Studio 29 Designs and the addon stamps by Technique Tuesday. The theme this month is Journey and was perfect for me to use on these layouts. This is my youngest Grandson Scott and he lives 700 miles away so I always scrapbook the times that we get to spend with him and then send him the pages for his book. Both layouts are 8.5x11 and are from We R Memory Keepers.
Grampy carved Scott an Angry Birds hiking stick and made him a bracelet with a compass on it so we planned a hiking trip at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue Ne. Of course we had to get him an Angry Birds t-shirt to wear!
I used images from all of these stamps.

Life Documented Week 3

Really loving this Life Documented collection from Simple Stories, and the different styles of pocket pages that they have! Got the Cuttlebug out and put some of the stitching folders and dies to work this week!

Life Documented Week 1

I had the pocket page portion done before I received all the pieces to the Life Documented collection but the last of it arrived last week so everything on the right hand side of the page except for the tag is from that collection. Im not used to using products this colorful, but it will be a nice change!
Finally got the sewing machine out and going to leave it on my workspace for awhile so that I use it more often!

Crazy Cat Lady

One of the gifts I received from my Grandsons, Kyler and Kaden really spoke to me because they picked this gift out because of a funny memory that we share from when they came over to visit one time. While I love the gift, I love even more what prompted the gift! So this story was really easy for me to get onto a scrapbook page.

All the digital elements are from Ali Edwards products and I used the gift tag on my page as well!

This year I have finally taken the time to get some of the "Stories" told from the past. I have wanted to do this for over a year now and Its been really hard for me to get started. I think maybe the biggest thing is that originally I wanted to do them chronologically, and I think that is what was holding me back the most. So I am just going to get a page done when I have a memory spark.
Funny sometimes on what sparks a memory, but glad that I was reminded of how my Grandma Treft used to hoard napkins and stuff them in her bra, because my Sisters and I used to giggle a lot of over this!
I am putting these pages in an 8.5x11 album and this particular one I cut the page protector down and then sewed it shut. All the type on my page is from Ali Edwards digital files!
